Email Failure messages

Many Members are still missing out on benefits

It is unfortunate but with a medium such as the Internet, for one reason
or another e-mail addresses do change on a regular basis. Each month the
IPDA send out many e-mail's to members and we always have a few messages
returned where members have failed to provide a new or changed address.

There are several reasons for this, the main one is address out of date.
Other reasons could be that spam blockers have are in place, Mailbox quota
is full, or request has timed out. Sometimes it may be a mistake in the recipients
address.

If you are one of the members that are not receiving News Letters, and IPDA
announcements please notify one of the committee so we can update your details.
This also applies if you are changing your e-mail address in the near future.

Please help us to help you keep in touch, allow your spam blocker to receive
IPDA mail, or send your updated address as soon as possible. If in doubt
send your address just the same so it can be confirmed, also add the secretaries
name to your address book for future update reference.

Many Thanks

Look at the latest supposedly Paypal email.. I cannot cut and paste all the information for some reason but you get my message I hope..

"rare" stamps... really!!!!

Hello ..
I wrote the following a week back and thought I’d republish here to remind us all.

I am reminded by some of the articles I see on various stamp club notice boards that when buying stamps:
1) the seller has to be knowledgeable about what they are selling and
to have accurately described the stamps, and

2) the buyer should be equally well informed about what they are buying having studied the stamps and researched alternative suppliers and prices and the authenticity of the seller.

When stamps are described as "rare" I would be most thorough in my research if I were thinking of buying.

Is the seller a member of the IPDA (Internet Philatelic Dealers Association) or some other accredited philatelic organisation?

People come to me occasionally and say I have these old stamps from my Grandfathers day and they are hundred plus years old.. and to be honest they are usually worth nothing... not to say one day there wont be a surprise.. but a correctly described "rare" stamp is just that.

if in any doubt email me or one of my IPDA colleagues and talk to us….. we might be able to offer some advice...

Best wishes... Michael Director IPDA and Publicity Officer
